Urubamba

Bringing the Authentic Taste of Peru to the New York Foodie Scene.

With a base of 951 followers, Urubamba reached 27,681 different people in 90 days — 29 times its own audience — and 57% of those views came from accounts that didn’t follow them yet. This is how an inconsistent account became the engine that fills tables in Queens and Long Island.

01 The Challenge

Despite serving world-class Peruvian dishes, Urubamba’s digital presence didn’t reflect the quality of its kitchen. Sitting on a base of 951 followers, they were missing out on the massive “foodie” audience in Queens and Long Island, and needed a way to turn online scrollers into physical diners sitting at their tables.

02 The Strategy

We implemented a “Visual-First” growth engine to bridge the gap between their kitchen and their community:

  • High-End Content

Professional photography and short-form cinematic videos focusing on signature dishes like Lomo Saltado and Ceviche — and, above all, reels with people in the frame, which is what actually travels.

  • Localized SEO & Targeting

Optimized their Google Business Profile and Instagram geotags to ensure top placement for “Best Peruvian food near me” searches.

  • Social Engagement

Transitioned from posting to community building, capturing restaurant energy during peak hours: date nights, birthdays and the brunch service.

  • Brand Consistency

Ensured visual identity across platforms reflected culinary quality.

  • Weekly Rhythm

A cadence we hold week after week. The month we sustained it, views outperformed the previous two months combined.

03 What travelled furthest

The pattern is consistent: reels with people in them, not just the plate.

  1. Date night

4,400 accounts reached, 114 likes and 66 shares.

  2. The reaction inside the restaurant

3,000 accounts — and 20 new followers from that single reel.

  3. A birthday at Urubamba

2,800 accounts reached and 45 shares.

04 The Result

  • 29× their own audience

With 951 followers, the content reached 27,681 different people in 90 days and pulled 31,600 views.

  • Discovery, not echo

57% of all views — nearly 18,000 — came from accounts that didn’t follow the restaurant yet. That is new people, not the same regulars.

  • July broke the curve

17.1K of the quarter’s 31.6K views landed in the last 30 days: one month outperformed the previous two combined, and brought 42 of the 70 new followers.

  • From scroll to table

1,710 profile visits in 30 days — one in ten of everyone who saw the content — plus 112 clicks through to the website.
